Telangana’s Industries Minister, D Sridhar Babu, revealed the state’s ongoing efforts to attract Tesla, emphasising their commitment to facilitating major investments from global giants.
The Telangana government is intensively engaging in discussions with Tesla to lure the electric car manufacturer to set up a plant in the state, as disclosed by Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu. Since December 2023, the government has been meticulously focusing on securing significant investment opportunities from renowned global companies, closely monitoring Tesla’s investment plans in India as part of its strategic agenda.
We have been studying and tracking Tesla’s planned investment initiatives in India. We have been making all out efforts to bring Tesla to Telangana for some time,” stated Babu, highlighting the persistent dialogue and negotiations with Tesla to establish its plant in Telangana. The state’s industry-friendly policies coupled with a forward-thinking vision aim to create a conducive environment for leading companies like Tesla to thrive in Telangana, he further added.
The minister’s remarks followed a statement from BRS leader K T Rama Rao, who urged the Telangana government to extend maximum efforts to attract Tesla to the state, citing a news report indicating Tesla’s intentions to scout for locations in India for an electric car plant with a proposed investment of USD 2-3 billion.
“Request Telangana Government to go all out and do your best to bring them to our state. Make sure Tesla team visits Hyderabad and understands the progressive industrial policies of Telangana Government,” emphasised Rama Rao in his post, underscoring the importance of showcasing the state’s industrial ecosystem to Tesla’s representatives.
