Flipkart has added 14 million cubic feet of warehousing space and 750 new PIN codes ahead of its festive sale.

Flipkart announced on September 29, 2026 that its logistics arm Ekart has added 14 million cubic feet of warehousing space nationwide. The company said this has raised overall storage capacity by 50 per cent. Ekart has also extended delivery coverage to more than 750 new PIN codes ahead of the festive season and Flipkart’s flagship sale, The Big Billion Days. Technology and automation upgrades have increased peak processing capacity by more than 30 per cent.
To meet demand for same-day and next-day deliveries, Flipkart has set up more than 900 additional delivery hubs. Its quick-commerce service, Flipkart Minutes, has nearly 1,200 micro-fulfilment centres across more than 150 cities. Hemant Badri, Senior Vice President and Head of Supply Chain at Flipkart Group, said the company now operates over 8,200 facilities across Ekart and Flipkart Minutes. He said this would help take the festive experience to more customers and help sellers reach new buyers. He added that customers in Leh and Kargil will experience The Big Billion Days for the first time this year.
The Walmart-backed company announced on September 15, 2026 that it was creating more than 2.5 lakh direct and indirect seasonal employment opportunities. Nearly 75,000 of these are aimed at first-time entrants to the job market. About 60 per cent of the roles are in last-mile delivery, driven by the expansion of Flipkart Minutes in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets.
