The Union Cabinet approves four-laning of 190.76 km across the Armoor-Jagtial-Mancherial section of NH-63 and the Jagtial-Karimnagar section of NH-563 in northern Telangana.
The Union Cabinet approved the four-laning of two key national highway sections in northern Telangana at a combined investment of Rs 7,597.16 crore. The projects cover a total stretch of 190.76 km: the Armoor-Jagtial-Mancherial section of National Highway 63, to be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), and the Jagtial-Karimnagar section of National Highway 563, to be developed on a Build-Operate-Transfer (Toll) basis. Upon completion, travel time between Armoor and Mancherial is expected to reduce by approximately one hour and 30 minutes, while travel between Jagtial and Karimnagar is expected to shorten by around 45 minutes. The upgraded corridors will strengthen connectivity with NH-44, India’s longest north-south highway corridor, and key routes including NH-363 and NH-163G, supporting both Nagpur–Hyderabad and Nagpur-Vijayawada freight and passenger movement.
The projects are expected to improve logistics connectivity for districts including Nizamabad, Jagtial, Karimnagar and Mancherial, which are engaged in agriculture, food processing, fisheries and manufacturing. The upgraded highways will improve access to Special Economic Zones in Siddipet and Warangal, Mega Food Parks in Nizamabad and Siddipet, as well as mandis, warehouses and processing centres serving farmers producing paddy, maize, cotton, turmeric and horticultural crops in the region. The corridor is aligned with the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.
