Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently met with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, seeking assistance to accelerate crucial infrastructure projects in the state. Projects like the underwater tunnel between Gohpur and Numaligarh, Guwahati Ring Road, Kaziranga Elevated Corridor, and 4-laning of various NH stretches were among the discussed initiatives.
Gadkari assured full support from his ministry for the speedy execution of these projects. In addition, the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, is launching a pilot project to establish healthy food streets in several states, aiming to encourage food safety practices and boost local economies. The initiative will create 100 food streets in 100 districts across the nation, promoting health and tourism.
