Folk Maritime Services has launched a new liner service connecting Jeddah Islamic Port to India’s Mundra and Nhava Sheva.
Saudi Arabia’s Folk Maritime Services, owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has launched a new liner service connecting the Red Sea’s Jeddah Islamic Port to India’s ports at Mundra and Nhava Sheva. Starting in September, the 10-day service, utilising two vessels, will enhance the movement of consumer goods from India and petrochemical products from Saudi Arabia.
Folk Maritime’s CEO, Poul Hestbaek, said, “The new route will strengthen bilateral trade and support Saudi Vision 2030 by positioning the Kingdom as a global logistics hub.” The service also marks the company’s growth following the purchase of its first vessel, M/V Folk Jeddah, and a Vessel Sharing Agreement with Oman’s Asayd.
Saudi Arabia is India’s fourth-largest trade partner, with both nations committed to growing bilateral cooperation. The new service will provide customers with more shipping solutions, as highlighted by Saleem Kadernani, Folk Maritime’s Chief Commercial Officer.
This new initiative adds to Folk Maritime’s ongoing Red Sea operations and reinforces its plans to expand regional and global connectivity.
