Terra Charge partners with the Airports Authority of India to launch its first public EV charging hub at Bhopal’s Raja Bhoj International Airport.
Terra Charge, a prominent EV charging infrastructure developer, has announced a partnership with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to install electric vehicle charging facilities at airports nationwide, starting with Raja Bhoj International Airport in Bhopal. This initiative is the first of its kind for Terra Charge and signifies a major milestone in the company’s expansion efforts.
The new charging hub at Bhopal Airport will cover 75 square meters and provide space for four vehicles simultaneously. It will feature one slow charger and one 30 kW fast charger, accommodating various types of electric vehicles, including E2Ws, E3Ws, and E4Ws. The facility will be accessible 24/7 to both the public and commercial fleet owners. Terra Charge has invested INR 15 lakh in this project and plans to complete four more airport projects under this partnership by the end of the current quarter.
Akihiro Ueda, CEO of Terra Charge, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, noting, “This partnership with AAI marks a significant milestone for us. The charging infrastructure at Bhopal Airport will address the growing demand for EV charging and enhance the charging experience for the local community. Our goal is to contribute to environmental sustainability and support the expansion of EV infrastructure across India.”
The charging station is expected to become operational within 45–60 days. Users will be able to locate the station via the Terra Charge Mobile App, available on Android and iOS. Terra Charge is also working on similar projects in other key locations across India.
