Zomato targets training 10,000 women to boost their presence in logistics by 2025.
Zomato has announced its ambitious plan to train and empower 10,000 women to join the logistics sector. This target was shared during a closed-door roundtable titled “Women in Logistics,” where Zomato highlighted its commitment to gender inclusion through its flagship initiative, Project Arya. Launched in 2021, the project aims to break gender barriers and provide women with the skills and opportunities to succeed in logistics roles.
To date, Zomato has onboarded over 2,500 women in its delivery fleet and aims for 20 percent female representation in its Hyperpure and Blinkit warehouses by the end of 2024. The event also addressed challenges women face in gig work, such as safety, infrastructure, and training access.
Partnering with NGOs and impact organisations like Pratham, Azad Foundation, and Mahindra Logistics, Zomato is working to foster a more inclusive workforce. Anjalli Ravi Kumar, Zomato’s Chief Sustainability Officer, reaffirmed the company’s vision to lead the change for women in the logistics space.
