Dr N Vinod Kumar, who recently took charge as Chairman of Mormugao Port Authority (MPA), shared the Port’s aims for more sustainable cargo operations with minimal environmental impact. He further stated that his first priority is the sustainable development of the Vasco-based Port.
The Chairman further aims for more economical operations and generating more employment without impacting the environment, thus leading the Port to its past glory. Kumar served as Goa’s Post Master General before this.
Speaking about the Port’s commercial activities that impact the environment, Kumar said they will strive to minimise it. He said that the Port will welcome all cargo shipments, but it should have minimum impact on the environment.
