Hyundai Motor reveals hydrogen vehicle projects and partnerships at ACT Expo 2024.
Hyundai Motor Company showcased its hydrogen vision and introduced its U.S. clean logistics business at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo 2024 in Las Vegas. The event featured the company’s Class 8 XCIENT Fuel Cell electric truck, highlighting Hyundai’s commitment to advancing a hydrogen society.
During the expo, Hyundai displayed the XCIENT Fuel Cell truck and related technologies, emphasising its hydrogen value chain capabilities from May 20-23. Ken Ramirez, Executive Vice President, highlighted Hyundai’s dedication to hydrogen, leveraging its cross-industry expertise to build a sustainable hydrogen ecosystem.
Hyundai also announced a new partnership, HTWO Logistics, with GLOVIS America, focusing on zero-emission transportation in Georgia. This collaboration aims to create a hydrogen mobility ecosystem around Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) to reduce carbon emissions in logistics.
Jim Park, Senior Vice President, detailed Hyundai’s rollout of Class 8 XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks in key U.S. hydrogen logistics projects, including the NorCAL ZERO Project and the Clean Logistics Project.
In Georgia, Hyundai is working to decarbonize its production facility through the Clean Logistics Project, further demonstrating the company’s commitment to sustainable logistics.
Hyundai also showcased a new enhancement concept for its XCIENT Fuel Cell truck, featuring advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and a digital instrument cluster. Additionally, Hyundai is collaborating with autonomous driving leader Plus to test Level 4 autonomous driving technology on the XCIENT truck.
Through these initiatives, Hyundai Motor aims to lead the transition to a hydrogen economy, leveraging its strengths in both mobility and energy sectors to realise its vision for a sustainable future.
