Partnership aims to expand multilingual digital services across DPIIT platforms.

The Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD) under the Digital India Corporation, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, have signed a memorandum of understanding under the “BHASHINI Seva/Sanchalan – A BHASHINI Sahayogi Program”. The collaboration seeks to strengthen multilingual digital capabilities across India’s industry and internal trade ecosystem through the BHASHINI platform, India’s National Language Digital Public Infrastructure.
Under the partnership, DPIIT and the BHASHINI team will work towards enabling multilingual access across DPIIT platforms through initiatives including BHASHINI Udyat, Mitra, Appmitra and Pravakta. The collaboration will also support translation API integration, domain-specific language model development, multilingual glossary creation, voice-enabled technologies and linguistic datasets. The initiative aims to improve access to information and services for entrepreneurs, startups, investors, businesses and citizens across all 22 languages recognised under the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution of India.
