Dredging Corporation of India entered the inland waterway by tying up with Inland Waterways Authority to build and maintain the fairway on national waterways in the North East. The fairway will be 32 metres wide and up to 2.5 metres deep. As per the Dredging Corporation of India, the project plans to develop and maintain it for 3 years through channel marking, dredging, and river training to provide a safe navigation route to all vessels.
Captain S Divakar, Managing Director and CEO (additional charge), Dredging Corporation of India, and Ashutosh Gautam, Member Technical, Inland Waterways Authority of India, signed the agreement on February 2nd, 2023.
Dredging Corporation of India, based in Vishakhapatnam, is known for capital dredging, maintenance dredging, beach nourishment, land reclamation, and project consultancy for Indian Navy, many major and non-major ports, fishing harbours, and other maritime organizations.
