DACHSER bolsters its European food logistics capabilities with the acquisition of Brummer.
DACHSER has expanded its network for the transport and storage of food in Europe by acquiring Brummer, the partner in the European Food Network for temperature-controlled food transport. The acquisition includes Brummer Logistik GmbH in Germany and Brummer Logistic Solutions GmbH & Co KG in Austria, encompassing the entire operational business of the Brummer Group. The financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed pending approval from German and Austrian competition authorities.
The founders, Hans Brummer and Simone Brummer-Leebmann, have chosen to focus on real estate management and development, particularly in the logistics sector, supported by their daughter, Valerie Brummer.
Brummer’s strategic locations in Neuburg am Inn, Bavaria, and St. Marienkirchen, Austria, with substantial storage capacities and proximity to borders, facilitate efficient consolidation of goods and optimise transit times. With expertise in cross-border transport, warehousing, and contract logistics services, including handling frozen foods below −18 degrees Celsius, Brummer aligns perfectly with DACHSER’s commitment to high-quality services.
Customers will benefit from expanded distribution networks, while Brummer’s workforce, known for its reliability and quality, will be integrated into the DACHSER family, ensuring continuity and future growth in the region. With Brummer’s operational business to be overseen by Max Reih and his experienced team, DACHSER strengthens its position as one of Europe’s leading food logistics companies, reinforcing its dedication to reliability, quality, and customer satisfaction.
