The government has been actively working towards developing and growing the electronics manufacturing ecosystem in India. And this year, PM Modi’s vision for India is in alignment with the same. He possesses the vision to achieve mobile phone exports worth Rs. 1 lakh crore.
Talking about the same, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, minister of state for electronics and IT, said, “PM Narendra Modi Ji’s vision for 2023 is mobile phone exports worth Rs one lakh crore, with mobile phones featuring in the Top 10 exported category.”
He also added, “We are going to complement our mobile phone successes by broadening and deepening the ecosystem. The deepening strategy has been there in the semiconductor space. It is very clear that we want to do more in our component industry. In the broadening, while we are growing in the mobile phone space, we also want to do well in the IT server and hardware space and in the wearable and hearable space. These are all areas that are rapidly expanding around the world. We want to increase our market share in IT hardware and servers. We are currently a very small player in that market. We want to increase our market share for components and our global market share in wearables and hearables. The Prime Minister’s goal and objective are to be a significant, trusted partner to global enterprises and consumers in all of these areas. If that requires any additional PLI or policy, we will do it.”
