Five tunnels on the Chandigarh-Manali Highway opened for traffic on trial basis

The Hanogi-Jhalogi tunnels on the Kiratpur-Manali route in the Mandi district were opened. In the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, the five tunnels that were built between Hanogi and Jhalogi have been made available for vehicle travel on a trial basis.

Although they have been opened for traffic, the tunnels constructed on the four-lane Kiratpur-Manali highway from Hanogi to Jhalogi in the Mandi district have not yet been formally inaugurated.

Earlier, India’s Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, declared on Twitter that the Kiratpur-Manali 4-lane project’s tunnels from Pandoh to Ot were crucial from a strategic and tourist perspective: “From a strategic and tourism standpoint, 10 tunnels are being built from Pandoh to Ot in the Mandi district of the Kiratpur-Manali 4-lane project, with 5 tunnels completed from Hanogi to Jhalogi.” “These tunnels are being opened for trial,” he said in Hindi on Twitter.
