CONCOR’s ICEBATTERY containers revolutionise temperature-sensitive cargo transport from Chennai to Port Blair.
In a groundbreaking move for India’s logistics sector, CONCOR has dispatched its first ICEBATTERY container, set at 5°C, from Chennai to Srivijayapuram (Port Blair) on December 26, 2024. This innovation bridges the logistical gap between the Indian mainland and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, enhancing the efficiency and reliability of supply chains.
The ICEBATTERY containers maintain temperatures between 2°C and 8°C for up to three days in passive mode, making them ideal for multimodal transport across rail, road, and sea. These containers cater to temperature-sensitive cargo like pharmaceuticals, marine products, and fresh produce, addressing logistical challenges in remote areas and improving sustainability in cold-chain operations.
