BEML and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders (MDL) have entered a strategic collaboration to boost India’s marine innovation capabilities and promote self-reliance in defense manufacturing.
State-owned BEML has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders (MDL) to jointly develop advanced technologies for marine applications. The partnership aims to strengthen India’s maritime sector by combining BEML’s expertise in engineering with MDL’s shipbuilding capabilities.
Under this agreement, BEML will provide technical expertise in designing and manufacturing strategic equipment tailored for marine use. MDL will offer facilities to support research, testing, and validation of innovative marine systems.
The collaboration is aligned with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, focusing on reducing reliance on imports and enhancing domestic manufacturing for defense and maritime applications.
