Amazon India has introduced ambulance services and a six-month health programme benefiting over 50,000 delivery associates across the country.
In a move to reinforce its commitment to the health and safety of its delivery associates, Amazon India has launched ambulance services and a six-month health programme, which includes more than 50 free medical camps. These initiatives are set to benefit over 50,000 associates nationwide. The ambulance services have been rolled out in partnership with Dial 4242, offering immediate medical assistance during emergencies, while the health programme includes dental and eye examinations, among other health services.
Speaking on the initiative, Karuna Shankar Pande, Vice President of Amazon Logistics India, emphasised the company’s focus on associate well-being. The ambulance service is easily accessible to delivery associates via their mobile app, allowing them to connect with the emergency response team with a single click.
This no-cost emergency service ensures timely incident reporting and dispatch of the nearest available ambulance, equipped with both basic and advanced life support. Amazon India covers both the subscription and usage costs of the ambulance service.Jeetendra Lalwani, Co-founder of Dial 4242, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership with Amazon India. Over the next six months, Amazon India will host over 50 free medical camps across 15 cities, targeting delivery stations across different zones. Six camps have already been held in Mumbai, Pune, and Bangalore, benefiting thousands of associates, according to the official release.
