CCEA clears ₹8,300.79 crore road project in Odisha.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the construction of a coastal highway from Rameshwar to Paradeep in Odisha under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM). The project will be developed at a total capital cost of ₹8,300.79 crore and will cover a length of 160.18 km across the districts of Khurda, Puri, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur.
The highway will be constructed in two packages comprising a four-lane access-controlled section from Rameshwar to Konark and a two-lane section with paved shoulders from Konark to Paradeep. The project is expected to improve connectivity along Odisha’s coastal region and provide better access to key economic and transport hubs including Paradeep Port, the proposed Astarang Port and the Multi Modal Logistics Park at Jagatsinghpur. It is also expected to support regional economic development and improve connectivity to important tourism destinations.
