DPIIT’s Project Monitoring Group reviewed 19 key projects across Bihar, Odisha, and West Bengal, tackling 23 issues.
The Project Monitoring Group (PMG) under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) recently reviewed 19 major infrastructure projects across Bihar, Odisha, and West Bengal, with a combined investment of over ₹63,858 crore. The review addressed 23 key issues, spanning sectors like steel, coal, road transport, petroleum, railways, and power.
A significant focus was the ₹10,439.09 crore Buxar Thermal Power Plant (1320 MW) in Bihar. Additionally, five projects under the Ministry of Labour and Employment aimed to improve Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) hospitals, enhancing healthcare access for insured workers and their families.
Chaired by Principal Economic Advisor Praveen Mahto, the meeting gathered officials from Central Ministries, State Governments, and project proponents to resolve bottlenecks and streamline execution. Mahto reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening project monitoring frameworks, ensuring timely completion, and driving India’s economic growth.
