Indian Railways introduces Vande Cargo Train, offering fast, efficient parcel transport across India.
In a significant boost to India’s logistics sector, Indian Railways has introduced the Vande Cargo Train, designed to modernise parcel transportation. Inspired by the efficiency of air freight, this innovative train aims to streamline the movement of goods with speed and precision, addressing the growing demand for fast, reliable deliveries.
The Vande Cargo Train features a scheduled service model, allowing businesses to plan shipments with better accuracy. Advanced technology and safety measures ensure the secure handling of goods, making it a game-changer in time-sensitive deliveries.
In addition, Indian Railways plans to introduce freight versions of the Vande Bharat train, focusing on routes between Delhi-NCR and Mumbai. These ‘Freight EMUs’ are expected to operate at speeds of up to 160 km/h and will accommodate palletized containers, significantly improving transit times.
This modernization aligns with India’s commitment to sustainable transportation, promising enhanced logistics for businesses and consumers nationwide.
