India’s longest Greenfield Expressway set to boost connectivity across multiple states by October 2025.
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced in the Rajya Sabha that the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will be completed by October 2025. This project, India’s longest Greenfield Expressway, spans 1,386 km and is being constructed in 53 packages, with 26 packages already completed as of June 2024.
Gadkari highlighted that the physical progress of the expressway is 82 percent complete, with 1,136 km already constructed. The expressway will enhance connectivity between major economic centers in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.

Gadkari also noted that there are currently 983 functional user fee plazas on National Highways as of June 30, 2024.
