DPIIT convened a stakeholder consultation in New Delhi to boost women’s participation in logistics, aligning with the nation’s Viksit Bharat vision 2047.
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) spearheaded a significant stakeholder consultation at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi, titled “Enabling Women Workforce Participation in Logistics Sector.”
Rajeev Singh Thakur, Additional Secretary, DPIIT, emphasised the pivotal role of gender diversity in fostering innovation within the logistics industry. With the participation of over 50 professionals, including representatives from Industry Associations, MSMEs, and academia, the consultation delved into challenges obstructing women’s entry and retention in logistics.
Discussions highlighted the imperative of an inclusive ecosystem fostering women’s involvement across all levels of the logistics chain. The event also showcased global success stories, emphasising the transformative potential of women in driving innovation and efficiency within the sector. Moving forward, stakeholders will contribute to crafting a roadmap aimed at enhancing women’s workforce participation in logistics through comprehensive feedback and collaborative efforts.
