Prime Minister Narendra Modi launches the Haryana stretch of Dwarka Expressway, laying foundations for 112 national highway projects worth approximately ₹1 lakh crore.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Haryana section of the long-awaited Dwarka Expressway and initiated the groundwork for 112 national highway projects collectively valued at around ₹1 lakh crore. The event took place on Monday, with PM Modi highlighting that in 2024 alone, he has inaugurated and initiated projects totaling ₹10 lakh crore.
PM Modi asserted that the Dwarka Expressway would stimulate economic activities in the National Capital Region (NCR) and open numerous opportunities for rural India. The inauguration marks a crucial milestone, as the ₹9,000-crore expressway’s first leg becomes operational after nearly 18 years since its conception by the Haryana government.
This development, part of the Centre’s ₹60,000 crore NCR highway development plan, aims to alleviate congestion in the capital. The Dwarka Expressway, designed by NHAI as a ‘model’ urban expressway, is envisioned to meet the region’s traffic needs for the next 20-25 years. PM Modi’s commitment to infrastructure projects reflects in the extensive initiatives undertaken for national progress, with the Dwarka Expressway as a vital component in the larger scheme of highway development.
