Prime Minister Narendra Modi disclosed an ambitious goal of achieving complete electrification for all rail lines within the coming months as he presided over the inauguration and foundation stone-laying ceremony of development projects totaling more than Rs 8,000 crore in Nizamabad, Telangana.
During the event, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the first 800 MW unit of Phase 1 at the Telangana Super Thermal Power Project, developed by NTPC. This project is poised to enhance the state’s power generation capacity significantly, with an ultimate goal of 4,000 MW after the completion of all phases. Modi praised the plant’s modernity, highlighting its crucial role in bolstering Telangana’s economic development and ensuring affordable power for the state.
In addition to the power project, the Prime Minister dedicated several vital rail initiatives, including a new rail line connecting Manoharabad and Siddipet and electrification projects for Dharmabad-Manoharabad and Mahabubnagar-Kurnool.
He also emphasised the ongoing implementation of India’s largest health insurance scheme, Ayushman Bharat, and laid the foundation stone for 20 critical care blocks (CCBs) under the Pradhan Mantri – Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission. These CCBs are planned across various districts, further enhancing healthcare infrastructure in the region.
