Aviation group completes outsize cargo movement from UK to Kazakhstan.
Global aviation group AIR ONE has partnered with Dubai-based Proactive Logistic Solutions FZCO (PLS) to transport an industrial gas turbine from the UK to Kazakhstan. The outsize shipment, weighing more than 8,400 kg and measuring nearly three metres in height, was moved from Aberdeen via East Midlands Airport to Aktau, Kazakhstan on a Boeing 747-400F freighter charter arranged by AIR ONE.
The aircraft was operated by One Air, AIR ONE’s UK-based affiliate carrier. The shipment supported the operations of a major gas turbine maintenance, repair and overhaul specialist and required specialised cargo handling expertise due to its size and weight.
Upon arrival at Aktau International Airport, PLS managed the final stage of transportation with support from its local partner Aviation & Forwarding Solutions (AFS). AIR ONE said the successful delivery highlighted its cargo loading capabilities, fleet flexibility and expertise in handling outsize and time-critical shipments.
Clair Gunn, Commercial Operations Director, AIR ONE, said the company’s Boeing 777 and 747 freighter fleet enables it to support a wide range of out-of-gauge cargo requirements, including shipments requiring nose-loading aircraft.
