Nokia and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya will jointly research 5G/6G for transportation and logistics.
Nokia has announced a collaborative agreement with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) to conduct joint research on 5G and 6G communications within the transportation and logistics sectors. This partnership aims to explore the application of advanced communication technologies in air, land, and sea transportation, as well as in the development of industry standards, smart factory automation, and AI/GenAI laboratories.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at Rail Bhawan in New Delhi, with the presence of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who also serves as the Chancellor of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya. Highlighting the collaboration’s potential, Vaishnaw stated, “This important collaboration has very significant potential to leverage advances in the telecommunications sector for the entire transportation and logistics sectors. This MoU further reinforces the industry-driven approach of the university to proactively co-work with industry stakeholders for a Viksit Bharat.”
This collaboration with Nokia underscores GSV’s commitment to integrating industry partnerships into its academic and research frameworks, aiming to drive innovation and technological advancements in India’s transportation infrastructure.
