Union Minister Nitin Gadkari emphasised the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in reshaping India’s logistics landscape during the ‘Revolutionising Supply Chain with Artificial Intelligence’ conference held in Nagpur. Organised by the Indian Institute of Materials Management, the event brought together logistics and AI experts.
Gadkari set an ambitious goal of reducing logistics costs by 2 percent within the next two years. He highlighted AI’s role in improving supply chains, packaging, and timely deliveries, essential for India’s global competitiveness.
Stressing technological integration, he encouraged industries to adopt innovative tools while ensuring equitable access to their benefits. Gadkari noted AI’s ability to enable data-driven decisions, improve operational efficiency, and lower carbon footprints.
Venkataraman, the institute’s director, outlined AI’s potential to address supply chain challenges. The conference underscored the institute’s focus on nurturing professionals through specialised courses in logistics and materials management.
