Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh revealed that by the end of 2023 or early 2024, Kashmir will finally be connected to the rest of the country through a railway link. During the inauguration of the Udhampur Amrit Railways Station’s foundation, he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for prioritising the development of previously neglected regions, including Udhampur.
Dr. Singh emphasised that the recent nine years of the Modi-led government witnessed significant progress in regions long overlooked. Udhampur’s transformation into an essential railway station along the Delhi-Katra-Kashmir route will boost trade and tourism in the area, fostering economic growth. The government’s commitment to developing remote areas and providing essential facilities aligns with PM Modi’s vision of inclusive development.
