Iran’s Revolutionary Guards detain ‘MSC Aries’ in the Strait of Hormuz, with 17 Indian nationals.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards intercepted the cargo ship ‘MSC Aries,’ holding 17 Indian crew members, sparking diplomatic efforts for their release. The vessel, associated with Israel, was seized shortly after Iran’s warnings regarding the strategic shipping route’s closure and threats of retaliation against Israel.
According to Iranian state media, a Guards helicopter boarded the Portuguese-flagged ship, bringing it into Iranian waters. MSC, the operator of ‘MSC Aries,’ assured cooperation with relevant authorities for the crew’s safety and the vessel’s return. Diplomatic channels between Tehran and New Delhi are active to ensure the welfare and swift release of the detained Indian nationals.
