Chile’s Foreign Minister leads a high-level delegation to New Delhi for bilateral trade and investment talks with Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal.

A high-level delegation from Chile led by Foreign Minister Francisco Pérez Mackenna visited New Delhi on May 13, 2026, for bilateral engagements with India aimed at strengthening economic and commercial cooperation. Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal held discussions with Pérez Mackenna on deepening bilateral trade and investment ties across priority sectors. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the early conclusion of a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the two countries, acknowledging its potential to unlock the full scope of the bilateral economic relationship. India’s Commerce Secretary held a separate meeting with Paula Estévez, Vice-Minister of International Economic Relations (SUBREI), covering trade facilitation, market access, investment promotion and institutional economic engagement.
An India–Chile Business Roundtable was also held in New Delhi as part of the visit, with participation from business representatives and industry stakeholders from both countries. The roundtable explored new avenues of collaboration in sectors including critical minerals, renewable energy, agri-business, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, digital services, logistics and advanced manufacturing. Both sides highlighted the complementarities between the two economies and emphasised the importance of resilient supply chains, sustainable development and greater private-sector participation in advancing bilateral cooperation.
