Gateway Distriparks introduces Double Stack Rail at ICD Faridabad, enhancing regional connectivity to major seaports.
Gateway Distriparks (GDL) has initiated Double Stack Rail services at its Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Faridabad, establishing the facility as the first in the region to provide such an offering. This service links directly to key ports including Mundra, Pipavav, and Nhava Sheva, enabled by the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC).
With this enhancement, GDL now operates Double Stack Rail services at three of its locations, including ICD Gurgaon and Viramgam. This new capability is anticipated to increase carrying capacity by up to 30 percent per trip, reduce freight costs, and boost efficiency for exporters and importers in Delhi NCR, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.
In addition to economic benefits, GDL’s Double Stack service is expected to reduce carbon emissions, contributing to environmentally responsible growth in the logistics sector. This advancement strengthens GDL’s commitment to sustainable supply chain solutions.
