CMA CGM has reshaped its India-Med service, shortening transit times from Mundra and Nhava Sheva to boost Indian exports.

Maritime leader CMA CGM has overhauled its weekly India-Mediterranean (MEDEX) service to enhance reliability for Indian cargo. Effective from the first quarter of 2026, the updated rotation will reduce total voyage duration from 70 to 63 days, offering faster transit times for the Indian subcontinent.
The revised loop maintains its critical focus on India’s west coast, with direct calls at Mundra and Nhava Sheva. The new rotation is: Abu Dhabi – Jebel Ali – Mundra – Nhava Sheva – Colombo – Jeddah – Port Said – Piraeus – Malta – Genoa – Beirut – Port Said – Jeddah – Abu Dhabi.
To streamline operations and manage Red Sea disruptions, the service has dropped direct calls at Valencia, Barcelona, and Fos-sur-Mer. These European destinations will now be served via transshipment through the Malta hub, allowing the main vessels to maintain a tighter schedule for Indian exporters.
The first vessel under this enhanced setup, the CMA CGM Pelleas, is scheduled to depart Mundra on 7 January 2026. This restructuring aims to provide Indian shippers with more predictable lead times and increased capacity. By cutting a full week from the rotation, CMA CGM is positioning its maritime network to better support the growing demand for Indian textiles, engineering goods, and chemicals in the Mediterranean and Levant regions.
