Following a successful 2023 edition, air cargo Africa returns to Nairobi, a bustling hub for air freight, emphasising multimodal transport solutions.
Messe Muenchen India, organisers of air cargo Africa, proudly announce Nairobi as the host city for this essential trade fair and conference. The decision stems from Kenya’s expanding economy, rising middle-income population, and improved infrastructure, positioning the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) as Africa’s busiest cargo airport in 2021.
Kenya’s infrastructure initiatives, including the high-speed rail between Mombasa and Nairobi, the proposed Lamu Port, and the Nairobi Inland Container Depot, contribute to growing import-export volumes. The move from Johannesburg to Nairobi was welcomed, aligning with regional economic communities like the East African Community (EAC) and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Dr. Robert Schoenberger, Global Industry Lead of transport logistic exhibitions, expresses excitement about air cargo Africa’s impact on Africa’s competitive logistics industry. With Africa’s rapid economic growth, the 2025 edition aims to serve the domestic market’s best interests, while transport logistic Africa will explore multimodal solutions in air, sea, roads, and railways.
The 2023 edition in Johannesburg attracted 60+ exhibitors and 2000+ visitors from 50+ countries, with expectations of surpassing these figures in Nairobi. Bhupinder Singh, CEO of Messe Muenchen India, anticipates the events as catalysts for meaningful partnerships, aligning with the accelerated implementation of AfCFTA and Kenya’s infrastructure development.
