ISS expands use of Achilles Maritime Network to strengthen ESG, safety, and supply chain oversight across 61-country footprint.

In a major move to elevate global supply chain transparency and ESG governance, Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS), one of the world’s largest port agency and maritime service providers, on Friday, 19 December 2025, announced it has joined the Achilles Maritime Network to better manage supply chain risk and improve environmental and social performance across its worldwide operations.
With more than 250 offices in 61 countries, a team of over 3,200 employees, and operational support spread across 85% of the world’s ports, ISS plays a pivotal role in global maritime trade. This vast presence brings the responsibility to maintain strong safety, compliance, and sustainability standards across a supplier network exceeding 30,000 partners.
ISS was among the earliest maritime organisations to recognise the power of the Achilles platform as an accredited supplier. Now, by expanding its use of the Achilles Maritime Network, the company will centralise supplier performance data and enhance oversight across key risk domains, including:
- health and safety
- ESG and sustainability
- carbon reporting
- financial resilience
- cyber security
The platform, already connecting more than 2,000 vessels, over 1,200 suppliers, and 12 major maritime organisations, continues to grow as a collaborative ecosystem driving higher standards and more resilient supply chains worldwide. By benchmarking supplier performance and accessing validated data, ISS expects to strengthen consistency, address risk faster, and support long-term operational efficiency.
The decision aligns strongly with ISS’s ESG ambitions set out in its Responsibility and Beyond Report, built around three pillars, People, Environment, and Business Conduct. Supplier operations form a major share of ISS’s Scope 3 emissions, making data accuracy, compliance, and continuous monitoring critical to carbon reduction and regulatory preparedness.
Leadership Voices
Simon Potter, Chief Procurement Officer at ISS, emphasised the strategic value of the partnership, saying:
“We have seen clear value in our work with Achilles. Extending our use of the Maritime Network enables us to collaborate more closely with suppliers, drive consistent standards and deliver on the commitments outlined in our Responsibility and Beyond Report. ESG considerations are reshaping the maritime industry, and this partnership helps us make measurable progress.”
Meanwhile, Achilles CEO Craig Rodgerson highlighted the network-wide impact of the move:
“Inchcape Shipping Services expanding its use of the Maritime Network marks a significant step for the community. ISS’s global footprint and commitment to responsible business demonstrate how collaborative approaches to supplier assurance can deliver meaningful ESG progress. We look forward to supporting ISS as it strengthens visibility, performance and governance across its value chain.”
As ISS deepens its engagement, the Achilles Maritime Network further strengthens its position as a cornerstone platform for supplier assurance, multi-tier visibility, and future-focused decision-making across the international maritime supply chain.
