The world’s largest maritime gathering begins Oct 27 in Mumbai with global ministers, CEOs, and ₹10 lakh crore investments.

India is set to anchor the world’s largest maritime gathering as the India Maritime Week 2025 (IMW 2025) launches in Mumbai from 27th to 31st October 2025. Organised by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW), the five-day event at the NESCO Grounds will spotlight India’s vision to become a global maritime hub and a leader in the Blue Economy under the theme “Uniting Oceans, One Maritime Vision.”
The event will be inaugurated by Shri Amit Shah, Hon’ble Union Minister of Home Affairs, in the presence of Chief Ministers from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, and Odisha: Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Shri Bhupendra Patel, Dr Pramod Sawant, and Shri Mohan Charan Majhi.
A major highlight will be the address by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 29th October, where he will deliver a keynote speech at the Maritime Leaders Conclave and chair the Global CEO Forum, engaging top executives from leading international maritime companies.
Reflecting India’s growing global maritime stature, foreign ministers from 11 countries, along with high-level industry delegations, will attend. Over 100,000 delegates and representatives from 85+ nations are expected to participate, including global industry giants, international organisations, and policy think tanks.
“India Maritime Week is more than an event; it positions India as a global maritime hub, promotes green and sustainable shipping, and enhances international trade and connectivity,” said Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping & Waterways.
The scale of IMW 2025 is unprecedented, featuring over 350 international speakers, 400 exhibitors, and 12 flagship conferences. The week will witness the signing of over 600 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth an estimated ₹10 lakh crore, signalling massive investment potential in India’s maritime and port infrastructure.
The event lineup includes the 4th Global Maritime India Summit (GMIS 2025), the QUAD Ports of the Future Conference, Sagarmanthan – The Great Oceans Dialogue, the SheEO Conference, and the UNESCAP Asia-Pacific Dialogue. Dedicated sessions for Norway, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden, as well as 11 Indian states and union territories, will highlight regional strengths and investment opportunities.
With its vast participation, strategic discussions, and landmark investments, India Maritime Week 2025 is poised to become a defining moment in India’s maritime and EXIM growth journey, reinforcing the country’s role as a global trade enabler and blue economy leader.
