DTDC Express has inaugurated its third all-women-operated branch in Thane, Mumbai, on International Women’s Day, expanding its initiative to empower women in logistics. The branch follows successful launches in Marol (Mumbai) and Kolkata and was inaugurated by Abhishek Chakraborty, CEO, DTDC Express.
Spanning 7,500 sq. ft, the Thane hub is a key logistics center, processing over 100 tons of shipments monthly. The all-women team will handle approximately 30% of shipments, each exceeding 3 kg, marking a transformative shift in workforce inclusivity.
Chakraborty emphasized DTDC’s dedication to diversity and leadership opportunities for women, citing a growing 41% female workforce in logistics. The initiative aims to break barriers, foster inclusivity, and redefine industry norms.
