The government is set to develop public-private partnership (PPP) projects worth ₹50,000 crore over the next five years to enhance the efficiency of state-owned ports. This move aims to boost port readiness and reduce congestion, key factors contributing to India’s high logistics costs.
A senior government official revealed that over ₹25,000 crore will be invested in more than 40 port modernisation projects. Additionally, in alignment with the National Hydrogen Mission, three hydrogen hubs are planned in Kandla, Tuticorin, and Paradip, with construction expected to begin within the next three years under PPP models.
These initiatives mark a significant step toward strengthening India’s maritime infrastructure, enhancing trade capacity, and promoting sustainable energy solutions.
