MSC is set to open its first IT venture office in Kochi, enhancing Kerala’s position as a maritime business hub.
Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) will soon establish its first IT venture office in Kochi, marking a significant milestone for Kerala as it emerges as a major maritime business hub. MSC has leased 20,000 sq. ft. of space at Lulu Cyber Tower in Infopark Phase I sector, according to P. Rajeeve, Industries Minister. He highlighted this development as a key step towards transforming Kochi into a leading maritime hub in India.
Initially, MSC will employ 250 professionals at its Kochi office, with preparations inside the leased space expected to be completed promptly. The Minister emphasised that maritime business is a major growth area for Kerala, and MSC’s arrival has significantly boosted these efforts.
This development follows closely on the heels of global giant Kongsberg entering Kerala, underscoring the State’s growing prominence in the maritime sector. Kongsberg Maritime opened a facility in Kochi on May 24 this year, aiming to enhance support for its customers in the region.
The establishment of MSC’s IT venture office further solidifies Kerala’s status as a rising maritime business hub, attracting global players and fostering economic growth in the sector.
