Longbang Port in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, received approval for its expansion project. This vital port, located in Jingxi, will not only serve China and Vietnam but also facilitate trade with third-party countries, significantly increasing its capacity and functionality.
The expansion project focused on several key areas, including passenger inspection enhancements and the renovation of the Naxi freight transportation channel.
The passenger inspection channel received a new, five-story, national-grade II passenger inspection building.
Meanwhile, the Naxi freight transportation channel underwent extensive renovations, covering 230,000 square meters and featuring zones such as a commercial area for border residents, a general trade zone, a bonded zone, and a cross-border e-commerce zone.
Longbang Port is a crucial border port in Guangxi, connecting the Indo-China Peninsula to central and western China. It plays a vital role in the new western land-sea corridor’s international logistics network.
Over recent years, the port has seen steady growth in import and export activity, with substantial foreign trade and a substantial boost in economic activity, making it a vital hub for international trade and connectivity in the region.
