Vitesco Technologies joins hands with DHL Supply Chain to enhance sustainability and efficiency in logistics operations.
As of March 2024, Vitesco Technologies, a prominent powertrain company, has established a strategic partnership with DHL Supply Chain, designating the latter as its Lead Logistics Partner (LLP). This collaboration aims to centralise logistics management for Vitesco Technologies’ 12 European locations through DHL’s LLP Center of Excellence in Warsaw, Poland.
Around 100,000 transport movements within the supply chain, accounting for approximately one-third of Vitesco Technologies’ total freight volume, will be overseen by DHL. Thomas Kirchermeier, Head of Supply Chain Management at Vitesco Technologies, emphasised the significance of sustainable logistics solutions in achieving their goal of CO2-neutral operations by 2040.
The partnership offers substantial advantages through synergies and optimisation potentials, leveraging DHL’s expertise in bundling freight volumes. By ensuring maximum transparency of transport routes and reducing CO2 emissions, the collaboration enhances efficiency and reliability.
Notably, DHL’s integration of climate-neutral transportation aligns with Vitesco Technologies’ electromobility focus. Hendrik Venter, CEO of DHL Supply Chain Europe, Middle East & Africa, highlighted the successful pilot projects and emphasised their commitment to further reducing emissions and enhancing supply chain efficiency globally.
