Mahendra Pokhriyal joins TIACA as Regional Representative for India, enhancing regional engagement and policy implementation.
The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) has appointed Mahendra Pokhriyal as its Regional Representative for India. This strategic appointment aligns with TIACA’s goal of maintaining a regional presence in key global areas.
Pokhriyal, who will oversee India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka, will focus on strengthening member relations, networking, and collaborating with regional bodies and government agencies. He will also promote and implement TIACA’s policies in the region.
Steven Polmans, TIACA Chair, expressed enthusiasm about Pokhriyal’s appointment, noting his extensive experience in the air cargo sector. Pokhriyal brings over 30 years of leadership from roles at Jetair – GSA Gulf Air, Jet Airways, Emirates, and Shree Shakti Air Cargo. His expertise spans air cargo sales, airport operations, business development, and freight forwarding.
Pokhriyal stated his commitment to advancing TIACA’s initiatives and enhancing the air cargo industry’s growth in the Indian sub-continent. Glyn Hughes, TIACA Director General, highlighted India’s significant cargo growth and the appointment’s role in supporting the region’s economic objectives.
