The Indian Institute of Freight Forwarders (IIFF), the training arm of the Federation of Freight Forwarders’ Associations in India, has received approval from the FIATA Logistics Institute (FLI) under the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) to revalidate its Diploma programme in freight forwarding (FFFAI). On September 13, 2022, during the FIATA World Congress meeting in Busan, South Korea, the revalidation certificate was presented.
It takes place every four years, and since 2014, IIFF has successfully completed three consecutive revalidations. This honour comes as a result of the substantial efforts IIFF made to guarantee they fulfilled the basic requirements set forth by FIATA on a global scale.
The Diploma in Logistics, Shipping & Freight Forwarding, accredited by FIATA and having international acceptance and recognition, is only offered by IIFF, the sole institute in India. IIFF launched its third online diploma programme in shipping, logistics, and freight forwarding on July 2, 2022, after running 16 successful batches. Students from all around India have responded incredibly well to the programme and have participated for more than 300 hours on weekdays from 7 pm to 9 pm. A distinctive feature of the course is the IIFF’s teaching methodology, which is based on real-world experiences with teachers who are industry specialists.
Shankar Shinde, Chairman, FFFAI, commented on the FIATA revalidation and stated that it is an acknowledgment of the teamwork between FFFAI and IIFF, which is led by Tej Contractor, President, and Dr. Nirav Thankker, Hon Secretary – IIFF. The FIATA validated Diploma Course, in his opinion, would open growth opportunities and give candidates an edge in the fields of customs brokerage, shipping and freight forwarding, multimodal transportation, and many more to leverage skill and open Global opportunities for candidates looking for careers in Logistics by choice. This also helps in restructuring the logistics industry to professionalise the next generation.
