Punjab’s Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, envisions the Delhi-Katra expressway as a harbinger of a new era of development and prosperity for the state. During a project review with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Mann expressed confidence in the project’s timely completion, emphasising the state government’s unwavering support to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
Mann believes the expressway will not only boost economic activity in the region but also create employment opportunities for the youth. He hopes it will significantly enhance trade and commerce in Punjab, positioning the state as a leader in the country.
The Chief Minister emphasised that the expressway, spanning 254 kilometers and costing Rs 11,510 crore, will traverse nine districts in the state, including Jalandhar, Sangrur, Malerkotla, Patiala, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, and Gurdaspur. Additionally, the highway is expected to facilitate pilgrims visiting the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, further enhancing economic activity in the region.
