Anand Kulkarni appointed to lead digital and regional sales at Lufthansa Cargo starting July 15.
Lufthansa Cargo has announced the appointment of Anand Kulkarni as the head of global markets, a newly created role aimed at overseeing the company’s digital and regional sales. Kulkarni will manage sales regions and the digital sales department, covering Germany, Austria & Switzerland, Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA), South Asia & CIS, Americas, and Asia Pacific.
Effective July 15, Kulkarni will report to Lufthansa Cargo’s chief executive, Ashwin Bhat. Before joining Lufthansa Cargo, Kulkarni was head of global expansion at General Logistics Systems (GLS Group), where he developed and implemented global growth strategies.
Kulkarni’s extensive experience includes a 15-year tenure with DHL, holding various management positions in the Asia Pacific and EMEA regions. His responsibilities at DHL included leading regional pricing & profitability, global sales steering, and performance management for DHL’s top 100 strategic customers. He also played a key role in DHL’s Global Aviation Strategy project, contributing to the creation of AeroLogic.
Lufthansa Cargo highlighted Kulkarni’s broad experience across the aviation value chain, including work with airframe manufacturers, leasing companies, airlines, financial and legal firms, and regulatory authorities. This comprehensive background positions him to effectively lead Lufthansa Cargo’s global market initiatives.
