Kale Logistics to digitalise Oman’s cargo network with a National Port Community System to streamline multimodal logistics.

Kale Logistics Solutions, a leading cargo technology provider, in partnership with local firm Novel Muscat, has been awarded a landmark contract by Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) to develop a cloud-based National Port Community System (NPCS). Announced during Oman Logistics Day, the move marks a major step toward transforming the Sultanate’s logistics infrastructure.
The NPCS will integrate operations across all modes of cargo transport—including ports, airports, land ports, and free zones—under a unified digital platform. This strategic investment aims to streamline international trade, boost operational efficiency, and position Oman as a logistics powerhouse in the Gulf region.
In the presence of Gulf Cooperation Council representatives and World Bank officials, Eng. Abdullah bin Ali Al Busaidi, Acting Head of the Oman Logistics Centre, outlined the four pillars of Oman’s Logistics Sector Strategy 2040:
- Market Development – Capturing greater market share in land, sea, and air transport
- Trade Facilitation – Revolutionizing cargo and supply chain systems
- Employment & Omanisation – Promoting local workforce participation
- Logistics Technologies – Driving tech adoption across logistics sectors
Vineet Malhotra, Co-Founder & Director of Kale Logistics, praised the Ministry’s vision, stating, “This initiative will significantly improve Oman’s Logistics Performance Index and foster economic growth through enhanced trade and job creation.”
Phase I of the project will focus on ports, expanding to all logistics modes in later phases. The NPCS is set to enhance Oman’s regional competitiveness and advance its logistics digitisation agenda.
