JSW Tuticorin Multipurpose Terminal inks deal for mechanised cargo berth development.
JSW Infrastructure’s subsidiary, JSW Tuticorin Multipurpose Terminal, signed a concession agreement with the V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority on July 2, 2024. The agreement involves the development and mechanisation of North Cargo Berth-III (NCB-III) at the V.O. Chidambaranar Port in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) basis.
Under this agreement, JSW Infrastructure will develop a new 7 MPTA Cargo Berth III, aiming to enhance its operational capabilities in handling bulk products. The mechanised berth will support a diverse range of dry bulk cargo, including coal, limestone, gypsum, rock phosphate, and copper concentrate. This strategic development is expected to boost JSW Infrastructure’s cargo share on the East Coast, leveraging access to the rich hinterland served by the port.
The project highlights JSW Infrastructure’s commitment to expanding its footprint and enhancing efficiency in India’s maritime logistics sector.
