Leaders sign agreements during the Prime Minister’s state visit.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and President of Seychelles H.E. Dr Patrick Herminie held official talks at the State House in Victoria, Mahé, during the Prime Minister’s State Visit to Seychelles from June 27 to 29, 2026. The leaders agreed to strengthen cooperation in health, education, capacity building, digital transformation, sustainable development, social infrastructure, renewable energy, maritime security and defence. They also discussed regional and global developments, including challenges in the Indian Ocean region such as illegal fishing, drug trafficking and piracy.
Following the talks, the two leaders released a commemorative logo marking 50 years of diplomatic relations between India and Seychelles. They also witnessed the exchange of agreements covering capacity building, UPI, health, agriculture, shipping, space, extradition and a Line of Credit worth ₹1,250 crore. Prime Minister Modi also addressed an Extraordinary Sitting of the National Assembly of Seychelles, becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to do so, and met Leader of the Opposition H.E. Mr Bernard Georges during the visit.
