Amidst growing global concerns over the Hamas-Israel conflict, Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra met with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in Tehran.
The discussions centered on bolstering bilateral ties, enhancing connectivity through the Chabahar port, and addressing current challenges in West Asia. Both sides expressed commitment to strengthen ongoing cooperation in various spheres.
Kwatra also engaged with Iran’s deputy foreign minister for economic diplomacy, Mehdi Safari, focusing on advancing India’s involvement in the development of the Chabahar port as a crucial connectivity project. The port, located in Iran’s Sistan-Balochistan province, is a joint initiative aimed at fostering trade ties and regional connectivity.
