Singapore Airlines and IBS Software team up to digitise air cargo shipment records.
Singapore Airlines and IBS Software have announced a collaborative effort to co-develop a shipment record solution aimed at revolutionising air cargo operations. This initiative aligns with IATA’s ONE Record standards, promoting the digitization of shipment records to enhance operational efficiency.
The project, developed alongside Cargo Community Network (CCN), has successfully completed its initial phase. This phase involves the creation and sharing of digital shipment records among airlines, cargo community systems, and ground handlers via the ONE Record platform. CCN’s data collaboration platform, CUBEforall, facilitates this process by integrating legacy systems with ONE Record standards, ensuring seamless data exchange and transparency.
The digitization of shipment records addresses inefficiencies associated with handling physical documents. By maintaining a single source of truth, Singapore Airlines aims to improve data utilisation throughout the shipment lifecycle. This innovation is expected to boost transparency, reporting accuracy, and revenue accounting.
Ashok Rajan, Head of Cargo and Logistics Solutions at IBS Software, emphasised the importance of data accessibility and digitalization in the cargo industry. Marvin Tan, Senior Vice President Cargo at Singapore Airlines, highlighted the airline’s commitment to innovation and meeting industry standards through this collaboration.
