Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted the crucial role of highways in India’s development and economic growth, asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made significant strides in highway development over the past nine years. Shah inaugurated the four-laning of the Kamakhyanagar-Duburi stretch on NH-53 and laid the foundation stone for widening and strengthening the Moter to Baner route in Kalahandi district in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at Lokaseva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar.
Shah emphasised that the Modi government has prioritised infrastructure development, citing fast tag implementation, efficient land acquisition, dispute resolution, IT utilisation, and innovative funding methods to accelerate highway construction. The development projects initiated by the Modi government have significantly contributed to Odisha’s economic growth, with a substantial increase in funds allocation. CM Naveen Patnaik highlighted the importance of connectivity for progress and empowerment, citing examples of successful projects like the Gurupriya bridge. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan lauded the special attention given to Odisha by the Modi government across various sectors, propelling the state’s development.
